Service To The Workers' Compensation Community

In addition to representing Injured Workers, Mr. Shalmi has spent 17 years representing employers, Workers Compensation Insurance carriers and third-party administrators (TPA’s). He has 35 years of experience in workers compensation representing either the Injured Worker (applicant) or the aggrieved employer (defendant) and can make appearances at the WCAB either remotely or in person for either the applicant or the defendant. In 1993 he was a Judge Pro Tem at the Van Nuys WCAB. He has experience handling all types of Comp cases and large caseloads of over three hundred applicants or defense cases for numerous law firms, insurance companies and employers, including the County of Los Angeles, Kaiser Permanente and Kroger.

He has handled thousands of mandatory settlement conferences and status conferences and hundreds of trials at the WCAB with great success and many happy and satisfied customers. His experience also includes 132a discrimination claims, lien claims, California Insurance Guarantee Association (CIGA) cases and death cases. Recently, due to the pandemic, Mr. Shalmi has been working almost exclusively by remote Zoom connections for depositions on behalf of Injured Workers. In his spare time, Jeff enjoys playing one of his guitars and singing, backyard gardening, watching his favorite TV shows and movies, sporting events, and trips to the Huntington Gardens and Art Museums.
